Sometimes, you will find yourself in a season where money’s tight, and suddenly, hanging out with your friends feels like a luxury you can’t afford. It’s uncomfortable. You start making excuses, ducking invites, and before long, you are watching life happen from the outside. But here’s the truth; your worth, your friendship, your presence, none of that is tied to how much you can spend.
This is a time to be real. You don’t need to over-explain, just be honest. A simple “Hey, I am budgeting right now” or “Hey, I don’t have so much money right now” goes a long way. The people who care will understand, and sometimes, they just need a reminder that connection doesn’t have to cost anything.
So instead of pulling away, suggest alternatives. A walk, a potluck, a movie night at home. Share music, send memes, call just to talk. You’d be surprised how many people are craving the same kind of simple, intentional time. And if they are not? That’s okay too. Not every circle fits every season.
This isn’t about missing out, it’s about making room. Use this time to slow down, to listen to yourself, to explore things that don’t require money but still feed your spirit. This season might feel hard, but it’s also teaching you to build relationships, and a life, that are grounded in more than spending. And that’s something no amount of money can buy.
I know what I am saying😅
When it get better, we will be together!!
