You think you have got a grip on things, you think you are moving, but memory—yeah, it plays tricks on you. It slips things away when you need them most, brings up what you want to forget, and holds back what you can’t afford to lose. You can put so much energy into getting back on track, only to feel undone by little details, little oversights. It was a long month, and just when you think you are pushing through, memory’s here to remind you it’s never that simple.
There’s the life in the in-between moments. Forgotten laptop chargers, phone chargers, endless waiting until you can power up, only to find yourself worn down all over again. It’s like trying to charge your own battery, but the world won’t slow down long enough for you to plug in. You try to keep up, but you are tired. You come back home hoping for a reset, and there’s something off there too—one more thing refusing to work.
It’s exhausting, yes. But maybe there’s something in the weariness that feels grounding. You can sleep and wake up again, and maybe that’s how you carry on. One day at a time, even if memory is full, even if life feels out of sync, even if it doesn’t get any easier.
Maybe that’s just it—keep going, take rest where you can, find peace where you find it.
"...Find peace where you can find it"
How I woke up this morning, and just said, "I want peace in November."
